Steve Hewitt
Steve graduated from Strathclyde University in 2007 with BSc Hons prosthetics and Orthotics and from the start of his professional career was heavily involved in scoliosis clinics using the Boston Brace within the Scottish National Scoliosis Service in Edinburgh, Scotland. This developed a very early interest in scoliosis management and a passion to develop it further.
In 2009 he became the Lead Orthotist at Sheffield Children’s Hospital where he completed his Spinecor training and was involved in the regular Spinecor clinics within Sheffield Children’s, attracting referrals UK wide.
In 2015 he went to Germany to become specialised in hypercorrective style rigid bracing and introduced this bracing system into the UK within a private clinic based in Sheffield and London.
At the start of 2021 he joined The SpineCorporation Ltd, as Clinical Scoliosis Specialist Orthotist, bringing 14 years of scoliosis experience and his specific interest and passion for hypercorrective rigid style bracing. He is the company specialist in the Providence brace, a nighttime specific scoliosis brace, introduced for the first time into the UK in 2021, primarily for use within the BASIS Study (a national bracing trial within the NHS) to compare the effectiveness of night-time versus full time bracing.
He currently offers clinical services to both paediatric and adult patients in their scoliosis management within the NHS at Sheffield Children’s Hospital and privately at BMI Thornbury and Harley Street, London. He is registered on the Health and Care Professionals Council, HCPC and SOSORT (International society of the conservative treatment of Scoliosis).

Matthew Nolan-Thomas
Matthew qualified from the London School of Orthotics in 1993. His interest in paediatrics and scoliosis developed and he began working at Sheffield Children’s Hospital in 1998.
Whilst continuing his clinical practice he became a Paediatric and Spinal Clinical Specialist and Training Manager for an international orthotics company, supporting the development of junior colleagues and complex case management.
Matthew has wide experience in the management of scoliosis covering rigid, semi- rigid and dynamic bracing and has presented at various national and international conferences.
He joined The SpineCorporation Ltd in 2016 and his current clinical duties are within Sheffield Children’s Hospital and James Cook University Hospital, providing paediatric and adult scoliosis management and acting as an international trainer for SpineCor, supporting SE Asia and Australia.

Alys Bebb
Alys joined The SpineCorporation team in early 2025 so she could work with hypercorrective Cheneau style bracing full time. Alys developed a very early interest and passion for scoliosis care and hypercorrective bracing, and her personal experience of scoliosis was the catalyst that inspired her to become an orthotist. Following on from graduating with a 1st class BSc Hons in Prosthetics and Orthotics, she spent the first few years of her career working in clinics across Wales; here, she worked in a wide range of orthotic clinics which included scoliosis clinics using Boston style bracing.
Alys is motivated in ensuring all scoliosis patients are treated holistically and with a patient centred approach. She is passionate about early detection, awareness and improving the quality of life for people with scoliosis.
Since joining The SpineCorporation, she has really enjoyed seeing the significant benefits of using CMP bracing compared to previous bracing techniques and is even more encouraged to advance and ensure the best conservative treatment is available across the UK.
Alys currently offers clinical services to paediatric patients with spinal deformities through the NHS and privately across the UK. She is registered on the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
